HONG KONG, October 8, 2006 - Po Leung Kuk, one of Hong Kong's most respected charitable organizations, has selected PCCW Solutions Limited ("PCCW Solutions"), the information and communication technology ("ICT") arm of PCCW Limited, to implement its procurement management system.
The new system will automate and centralize the procurement process, enabling Po Leung Kuk to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve quality assurance in a paperless working environment.
Po Leung Kuk currently runs over 200 service units throughout Hong Kong, providing social, educational, cultural and recreational services. The procurement management system will enable online sharing of purchasing information and central management of daily purchases. Based on the real-time information and analysis reports generated from the system, Po Leung Kuk's management will be able to monitor its procurement budget more closely and plan its purchases more effectively while strengthening negotiating positions with its thousands of suppliers.
PCCW Solutions will provide a comprehensive suite of procurement management systems services, including project management, system implementation, system customization, and ongoing support. A pilot system has already been successfully rolled out to 10 departments and 20 service units within Po Leung Kuk, and the system will now be deployed to other sections in subsequent phases.
