HONG KONG, June 3, 2004 - PCCW's Unihub today announced that its Outsourcing and Managed Services (OMS) has been assessed at maturity level 5, the highest maturity level of the Capability Maturity Model Integration - Software (CMMI-SW). CMMI is the world's leading industry standard for software engineering excellence established by Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. Unihub achieved the prestigious rating following adoption of an integrated approach, which enables the continuous improvement in its process of application development, maintenance and enhancement services.
Customers now have an additional comfort level knowing that Unihub is not only capable of delivering agreed services but also that the OMS process is being continuously assessed to meet CMMI requirements. Multinational and local enterprises can engage Unihub's service as an attractive alternative when requiring an outsource/offshore development center comparable to those available in India. Unihub will also be offering application enhancements for localization of software in adapting to the mainland China market in terms of local requirements and language capabilities.
