HKT (SEHK:6823) – HONG KONG, September 13, 2012 – HKT, Hong Kong's premier telecommunications service provider, has been awarded two contracts to provide communication networks for on-street traffic signal control, closed circuit television (CCTV) systems and related equipment for the Transport Department, with a combined contract sum exceeding HK$100 million.

The networks are designed to support video and data transmission of on-street traffic signal control and CCTV systems managed by the Transport Department, including 1) transmission of data between on-street traffic signal controllers and related equipment and traffic control centers, and also between traffic control centers; 2) transmission of CCTV images between on-street CCTV cameras and traffic control centers, and also between traffic control centers; and 3) transmission of data between equipment and workstations accommodated at various locations for traffic control and monitoring, and office automation applications.
